Illuminating Empirical Evidence of Climate Change: Impacts on Rice Production in the Punjab Regions, Pakistan

چکیده
Climate change can disrupt food availability and reduce access to by affecting agricultural production in the world. Thus, current empirical study investigates impacts of climate on rice over different regions Punjab, Pakistan for period 1979–2018. The bound test co-integration method with autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) was used explore symmetric relationship between production. Furthermore, this employed a nonlinear ARDL (NARDL) approach investigate asymmetric results indicate that long run there is negative average maximum temperature all three regions. long-run minimum (Tmin) has significant association during kharif season Southern Western Punjab. While Central positive rice. rainfall indicates as increases it would cause rice, while Punjab increased an increase Moreover, NARDL dynamic multiplier analysis also supports showing dominance high impact component investigating Pakistan.

Climate change effects on economic growth: mixed empirical evidence
West Africa is vulnerable to the effects of climate change. This paper analyzed the impacts of climate change on economic growth in Anglophone West Africa with similar background, during the periods 1969-2016. Five growth model equations have been developed to incorporate climate change variables into the model. Panel data estimations such as the fixed effect model, random effect model and Haus...
متن کاملFarmers’ Perception Regarding Impact of Climate Change on Wheat Crop Production in Layyah District-Pakistan
Pakistan is at 28th amongst the countries that are going to be hurt badly by climate change. It falls in ten major wheat-producing countries of the world in terms of area, production and yield per hectare. Global warming, as a result of climate change, may negatively affect morphological characters of wheat. The present study was undertaken in district Layyah to find out the impact of climate c...
متن کاملSimulation of rice production under climate change scenarios in the Southern coasts of Caspian Sea
Climate change has direct and indirect consequences on crop production and food security. Agriculture and cropproduction is one of the factors which depend on the weather conditions and it provides the human requirements inmany aspects. The objective of this study is to assess the impacts of future climatic change on irrigated rice yieldusing the CERES-Rice model in the Southern Coast of Caspia...
متن کاملImpacts of climate change on rice production in Africa and causes of simulated yield changes
This study is the first of its kind to quantify possible effects of climate change on rice production in Africa. We simulated impacts on rice in irrigated systems (dry season and wet season) and rainfed systems (upland and lowland). We simulated the use of rice varieties with a higher temperature sum as adaptation option. We simulated rice yields for 4 RCP climate change scenarios and identifie...

We simulate the effect of climate change on water requirements of cold seasonwheat in various climatic zones of Iran. The research considers both observedclimate (temperature and precipitation) changes during recent decades (1960-2009)based on instrumental records and projected future changes to 2100 based on theMAGICC/SCENGEN 5.3 compound model. 20 General Circulation models are usedbased on a...
